Malleswaram Moves!

Malleswaram Moves celebrates urban culture and neighbourhood community building. Part of M{A}P and in collaboration with several organisations and individuals the last 2 weeks of February will be packed with more than 20 unique events celebrating urban culture.

The festival culminates on the 25th of February with a day-long series of events, exhibitions, performances and street-side art interventions. Data gathered from over 1800 unique surveys and interviews on mobility issues as well as socio-cultural issues faced by residents, users and visitors of Malleswaram, collected over the months of December 2011 and January 2012 will be released and displayed to the public on this day!

The Urban Avant-Garde Project enabled top German street artists to work in tandem with Indian artists over a period of a month to create unique artworks on public walls and buses in the neighbourhood of Malleswaram. This is supported by the Max Mueller Bhavan/Goethe Institut – Bangalore and part of the Germany in India Year 2012: Infinite Oppurtunities.
